The situation

Gateway's Galaxy ticketing platform is used by major visitor attractions internationally. It was designed in the US — but for UK museums and heritage organisations, memberships and annual passes paid by Direct Debit are a core income stream.

Elephas has worked with Gateway's UK business since 2017, filling UK-specific requirements like this with integrations, plugins and companion apps.

What we did

  • A secure payment page that validates bank details and sets up Direct Debit mandates
  • Plugins for Galaxy's web store, tills and payment-plan processing, so Direct Debit works wherever a membership is sold
  • A webhook listener that updates membership status as payments succeed or fail
  • A background service that schedules collections with the right working-day lead times, monthly or quarterly
  • A rebuild of the integration when the Direct Debit provider changed from Rapidata to Access Paysuite
  • Tesco voucher redemption at the till, and Gift Aid workarounds

The outcome

17.NET projects, one developer

Royal Museums Greenwich, the Ashmolean and Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust take memberships and payment plans by Direct Debit through Galaxy, on an integration built and maintained by one developer.
